WMP10 does not play .CDA files from CD

  1. I just cannot get the WMP10 player to play my audio CDs.
The file extension .CDA is recognized on my PC, because WMP is automatically
    loaded.
But when it tries to play the .CDA files, I get an error message saying that
it does not recognize the file type.

I've found the follow help on the internet, but this doesn't work for me:
Guide To Error C00D1197 In WMP
    http://msmvps.com/chrisl/articles/17310.aspx
The help says to delete a registry key CDAUDIO.
As I said, this does not work at all.

Am I missing a codec, if so, where can I download it?
