WMP11 beta2 to WMP11 beta2 media sharing?

So I have a server from which I am successfully sharing my media via WMP11
beta2 to my Xbox 360. That works perfectly. Now I tried installing WMP11
beta2 on my XP installation on my laptop, but my share from the server never
shows up and on my server I never get the prompt asking me if I want to allow
this device. Now, I also have Vista installed on a seperate partition on the
same laptop and I am able to access the share from the server just fine as
well. I did have to enable an option that said 'look for shared media' or
something along those lines. This option seems to be missing from WMP11 beta2
in XP so my question is: is it even possible?

    Thanks,

  2. I just saw a post from Zach saying that networked files are not supported.

That's Find Album Info I think you're referring to.

By default right now, the sharing service only shares local files. It would
be inappropriate to make any further conjecture until the final bits ship.
The final docs should be illuminative here.

  4. It would help to know what is *intended* to be supported so that testing can
be directed accordingly. WMP features seem to be the most opaque area of the
entire Windows shell, and thus the most time-wasting in terms of beta-tester
    resources.

Great, and you know I can't discuss that here. =)

  6. I think many folks would be happy if it was discussed on the private
    newsgroups.
