WMP11 bug: Find Album Info does not update Album Art

Discussion in 'Windows Media Player' started by Mike Williams, May 19, 2006.

  1. I noticed one of my albums was missing track numbers and album art, so I
selected all the tracks (in Expand Tile View) and ran through them in
    the Find Album Info wizard.

All the track numbers were updated - and for completeness of reporting,
the other track data was overwritten too. However, even though the Album
Wizard displayed the album-art, this was not updated in the library.

Album was: Un Autre December, Sylvain Chauveau 2003

  2. And I can't drag the thumbnail from the Album wizard to the library.

I believe that album art is applied asynchronously, so may take a bit to
show up and you may then need to switch views to refresh. I believe that's
being looked into, according to mail I saw from Jamie.

is there a way to help "submit" CD info to your collection (ala Wikipedia)??
That would be a great way to expand your coverage of obscure (and
    Intenational) CD titles.

30% of my stuff (mostly Spanish rock and pop) was not found.

Yeah, click Find Album Info when you insert a CD - those submissions get
    aggregated, validated, and processed .

  6. That wouldn't happen if background metadata updates are turned off
though...would they? The Find Album wizard overrides that, but I miss
the boat if that doesn't work.
