WMP11: Request that RIP settings be shown during RIP

Discussion in 'Windows Media Player' started by Mike Williams, Jul 1, 2006.

  1. I change my RIP settings quite frequently, usually between
    * Lossless WMA
    * WMA 64 kbps for spoken word recordings
    * MP3 (various settings) for devices which can't cope with WMA or high
    bit rate files

    As a result i find that I sometimes forget to switch the bitrate to the
    proper setting. It would be helpful if the space to the left of the RIP
    button at the bottom had some text like "Ripping X tracks as Lossless
    WMA files to folder --------".

    That would have the dual effect of 1) reminding of users of the current
    rip format; and 2) informing more naive users of where the tracks reside
    on disk(since many believe they end up "inside" the WMP database).

    I've passed the suggestion along.
