    Windows Media Player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled.

    Do you want to install the player from the Microsoft Web site?"









    -- how can i use my Windows Media Player again? i installed that and it says
    i cant use an older version to repair a newer one.

    What did you do previous to this happening?

    Run "cmd.exe" as administrator.

    Run this command in that "cmd.exe" window:
    unregmp2.exe /FixWMPVersions

    Then you'll be fine. Or upgrade to Service Pack 1.
