Won't Record because of Disk Space, but Have Disk Space

I cleared off space and had over 20GB free , and the media center quit
recording shows and says there isn't enough space. However there is enough
space. Yes, I have emptied the recycled bin, and my computer cleary shows
over 20gb free. And yes I am checking the right drive.

I never had this problem before, and started recently. When i clear up to
around 40gb free it records again. But then when it hits around 20gb it
    stops.

Why does this happen ? How do I fix this?

You should try going into the media centre settings>tv>recorder>recorder
    storage

Then change the settings to suit you,

  3. Good advice. I've got my recorded TV on a 300 gig drive. MCE will automatically default to only using 275 gig of it, unless I change that particular setting manually to use the full drive.

Ok. I will check and post. I believe I had set this a long time ago to use
    everything but about 5gb.
