Workstations doesn´t appears in my network places

Discussion in 'Windows Server' started by Geraldo Nascimento, Jun 15, 2005.

  1. My network is composed by 2 subnets 192.168.1.xxx and 192.168.2.xxx, between
the 2 subnets I’ve a Cisco Router. I’ve just one DNS server and one Wins
server that are located in 192.168.1.xxx subnet.
So, my problem is that all the workstations located in 192.168.2.xxx subnet
doesn’t appears in the "my network places - Entire Network" of the machines
located in 192.168.1.xxx subnet. However if I make a search using the name or
IP of the machine, it’s found.

    Hi
Is that because Network Neighbourhood needs NetBIOS, which may not route
    very well (at all)
    Just an idea

    Geraldo,

Routers block browsing. If you have all the workstations register with the
WINS server located in 192.168.1.xxx they should show up in Network
    Neighborhood.
