I got Vista from the Academic Alliance, and I'm pretty sure it's the full
version since I was able to choose from multiple versions. I have an AMD
Athlon 64 3700+, but never saw any option to install the 64 bit version of
    Vista. Where's the option located?

32-bit and 64-bit versions are on separate discs.

    Aaron:
Is that the case with commercial versions? I know it was like that when I
    got RC1 (two separate disks).
But I thought with the commercial versions you either buy 32 bit or you buy
    64 bit.

  4. For Home Basic, Home Premium, and Business the retail full and upgrade
editions contain the x86 dvd and instructions for obtaining an x64 dvd. For
Ultimate both dvd's are in the retail package.

  5. The 5-cd set is x86 only. There is no cd set for x86. You must request an
    x64 dvd to install x64.

I believe he meant "There is no CD set for x64." :p
