  3. No SP2 for Windows XP Professional x64 SP1, it is based on the Windows
Server 2003 SP1 Code base, which includes all the security technologies and
    updates from Windows XP SP2.

<<<Your questions indicate that you would be well advised to study up on
    x64 before going further.

<<<Do some self educating, and come back.

<<<There are some very talented and experienced people here with good
    advice to carefully thoughtout questions.

Hu, what for a problem do you have, need a doctor in mind, or?
I know what xp 64 is, but i only ask about updates! Is this in your
mind a crime ?! I think you are a one man show here, which email is
    only a nickname!

  5. No, there is not. Because x64 Edition is based on Server 2003 SP1, it
released at the SP1 level. This was AFTER XP SP2, and incorporates the
enhancements that shipped as part of SP2. Service Packs for x64 will track
    with Server releases.

Has there been any mention on whether there will be an update to x64 given
the recent R2 update to WinSrv 2003, or will they just wait until 64 bit
    Vista at this time?

    thanks..

  7. x64 Update to what? If you are referring to Windows Server R2, there are x64
Editions of it, Windows Vista will have consumer oriented Editions that will
    be 64 bit enabled.

  8. On the server side, the recent R2 release is fully compatible with Windows
Server 2003 x64 Edition. All the new features of R2 work in x64 Edition.
However, that is _server only_. Most of them aren't even appropriate for the
client product, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. Unfortunately, the one
area where it really would be appropriate for a client OS, it is not
available for XP. (NFS and SUA are both highly appropriate on a client PC.)

I'm sure that the next service pack for server will also apply to XP x64,
but that's not likely to be for a while.

  9. Service Pack 2 for Server 2003 is expected Q4 2006 Charlie, since Service
Packs for XP Pro x64 are determined by SP releases for Server 2003.
