XP 64 system event

    I am not finding any info on the System Events 12503(The WinHTTP Web
    Proxy Auto-Discovery Service has been idle for 15 minutes, it will be
    shut down.) & 12517(The WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service
    suspended operation.) from WinHttpAutoProxySvc.

    What is WinHttpAutoProxySvc for? Do I need it?

    Seems like this error recently started happening.
