    Hi all,

I am trying to get an XPe image to boot on a Virtual hard disk. I have used
WinPE to boot and then 'diskpart' to create a primary partition on the
virtual machine and then used the net use command to copy my image from my
host to the virtual hard drive c: However when i reboot off the harddisk the
virtual machine just hangs doesn't execute ntldr (i've removed to see if it
makes a difference and doesn't) so really this isn't issue with the Xpe image
more with VPC and how to create a bootable partition. Does anyone have any
    ideas?

    Regards

  2. The problem is not on the VPC, you should mark the partition as active one,
anc if you are creating FAT partition you should use bootprep to correctly
boot it, but I recommend creating Active Primary NTFS partition whereas NTFS
    partition will always load NTLDR.
