XP Pro Does not see my NEC 3520 as having write ablities

    XP see the drive as a NEC 3520 DVD read write drive.

    But shows in the properties that the MRW is not write.
    Also the PNP service is set to CD.

    I can read and write CD's but not DVD's with the drive.
    I have uploaded and installed the lastest firmware for the drive, NO help

    What program are you using to try to write a DVD. Windows does not have
    native DVD writing abilities, only CD

    You can only use the built in CD-Burning wizard with "CD's". Download or
    purchase NERO if you want such capabilities.

    I had the same problem with my Pioneer 110D. Nero recognised DVD
    capabilities, but Adobe Encore did not. Fixed it by downloading the latest
    bug fixes and updates from www.autopatcher.com
