XP Pro for free from Microsoft - well, kind of

Go here for a downloadable XP Pro .vhd-file (compressed
..exe-file). It includes SP2, IE6 and an IE7 Readiness Toolkit.
I tested it under VPC 2004 and startup time is excellent.

I haven't downloaded the image, but if you run "winver" it will probably say
something along those lines (in addition to the download page)

I can confirm that the output of winver indeed confirms what
is written on the download page Anyway, this is still a nice
offer from Microsoft for people to test their stuff. One note,
don't forget that there is no paging file activated, you have to
do this by yourself.
