The problem that I have is that when I copy a large file (~1GB) from one
hard drive to another (not using a network connection), the file does not
copy correctly in that when I run a md5 checksum (or the hjsplit checksum),
the file is not the same in the two location, I get different results from
the original file and the copied file. The same thing happens when I copy the
file to a different location on the same hard drive.

The same type of problem happens when I try to download an ISO image from
either a http or ftp site, same thing happens, the ISO md5 checksum does not
match what is given on the server.

I have all of the latest updates and service packs install for my XP Pro box.

    Any thoughts?

Well, I booted into safemode and the problem doesn't happen. Looks like it is
something that is running that is causing the issue.

  3. Hi,
i guess, there is a bug inside your mobo-chipset-drivers.
Try to find a newer one.

After further testing, I found out that it still happens. It takes a while
for it to show up (after copying the file 10 or more times). I shut down just
about everything that I could (services wise) and it still happens. I think
it is more an OS issue than a driver issue.
