just trying VPC2007 for first time. able to start the VM and boot from
Acronis cd, network and install a "recovery". reset the machine and I can
get to the B&W windows apolgizes for not starting... offers safemode, etc.
but choose any, and after mup.sys, goes black and stays black. could it be
the ATI graphics card in the host? never get to see XP, not even in safe.

    any thoughts?

too bad b/c I would like to use the builds I have in our company PCs without
keeping one of every model/build in my office. but this is worthless.

"simple" apps, like partition magic and acronis rung fine from CD- jsut
    can'tget XP running like this.

have to try an install cd to prove it, I guess. but that isn't my build,
    and loses soem purpose.

nevermind, found the previous thread witha lengthy workaround.

I will try it. guess I was a bit naive, not like images are useful between
various physical boxes (mainly b/c of controller chips). This is "virtual"
    not MAGICAL!

    This is "virtual"
That's a good way of stating it!

purchased Acronis workstation with universal restore option. $99 bundle.
easily worth it, if it works...
