Yet another email from "them on high"

  1. Right, well don't hold out much hope that this will be resolved any time
soon, I quote, from an email I just received from WLM support team:

"Michael, our product team is aware of this and we assure you that we are
working diligently to have it fixed as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we
do not have an estimated timeframe on when this issue will be resolved."

So that means they're doing sweet F-A and shoving it in our faces. Great
customer service, after being told to find non-existent log files and them
refusing to tell me the file name.

Really, well done Microsh*te you've outdone yourself this time.

  2. You do realize that you're ranting about a BETA right?

  3. Yes, but this is not about the piece of software, as many people have
pointed out: this is about Microsoft's Hotmail servers being screwy.

As it is, like a couple of other people are reporting I can now access it.

And is WLM 12.0.1184 still a beta? It doesn't say so in the About box, but
there again, that could just be wishful thinking...

    Hi, Michael.
Yes, it is still beta. I've heard that the final version is still months

My own feeling is that, even as a beta, WLM 12.0.1184 is much better than
the WM included in Vista. I've been running WLM for a month now and, except
for some migration problems the first week and for my climbing the learning
curve, there have been no serious glitches. There are still some "fit and
finish" issues that I sure hope they fix soon, but the program is working
    well for me.

The WLM Team has a presence here and they have been responding to some posts
as they have time. It's the most participation by MS in newsgroups that I
have seen in a long time, so I'm encouraged by their level of support for
WLM. Some of them are actually USING WLM to post! ;<)

  5. The other option, although not really viable, is WM of course :)
I have Office 2007 and I much prefer WLM over Outlook.

And the other viable options that are not in beta would be?

Using "It's just a Beta" is no excuse when the plan of development has
been going in one direction, then another. It's like Boeing putting a
new plane into service and explaining to the passengers "This week we're
trying 60 foot wings but if they break, well we'll just go back to 50
    foot wings and start over".

Why not just say Microsoft is no longer interested in supplying a free
mail client with Vista, you will have to buy Office 2007 or look elsewhere.
