I have this same problem (at about the same level of
occurrence) on every one of my client networks that use
the POP3 connector(all different ISPs, and some are DSL,
some cable). I got some advice to try adjusting MTU size
which I did but only made things worse. Most of my clients
    are using Linksys routers.
I'd love to see a suggested fix that works from the
    technical experts out there.

  3. Are the events at the same time of day and do they occur everytime the
connector attempts to connect. We see this quite often where ISP's reboot
their server once a day and while the server is down the connector attempts
todownload the mail. See if you see a pattern to the timing on the event log
entries and contact the ISP to see if they schedule daily reboots of the
    server.
