I have been using WLM version 2008 (Build 12.0.1606) for years now but I
guess I have never run into this . I have done searches and can not find an
    answer.

I have one email account for me and another for my wife (Comcast.net). POP3

When I send her an email and she forwards the email, her forwarded email
looks like comes from my email address, so when people are responding to her,
the response comes back to me, which I don't want. Her sent box does not
reflect that she has forwarded the email.

There must be simple fix because when you forward or reply to an email you
want it to come from your email account not the originator's account.

This issue works both ways. When she sends me an email, and I forward it, it
looks like my reply or forwarded email came from her email address.

I am the default email account. Hope someone has an easy fix. This is
    driving me nuts!

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Are the two of you sharing a computer or using separate computers?
If the latter, make sure each computer has only one email account
    under Tools, Accounts.

Gary, we are using only one computer. We share the same computer.

  4. Same Windows user login for both of you?
If so, both accounts will exist in one Windows Live Mail profile.
When replying, WLM normally uses the identity of the account which
downloaded the message. You can also select the correct identity
manually by clicking on the 'From' in the upper right corner of the
    message compose window.

It is possible that something is upsetting WLM's account tracking.
You can verify that WLM has the correct account identity for each
incoming message by adding the Account column to the message
list pane: right-click on any column header, select Columns, and
    add the Account column.

The alternative...create separate logon user profiles in Windows each with you own email account.

Gary and Winston, thanks for your replies. Both of your suggestions may have
worked, but an email program should not have to have that many
“work-a-roundsâ€. I did finally see the "From" drop down box on the right that
would have worked when my wife and I were reply and forwarding our emails.

The good news is the problem is fixed. I was trying to download the Windows
Movie Maker Beta and for some reason it also download the latest version on
    Windows live mail.

With the latest version, the issue is not there. It recognizes which account
is forwarding or replying and makes that the "from" account. I am not sure if
old version (12.0.1606) was always flawed or if it started doing this
    recently.

Anyway, the problem is fixed with the new version. (14.0.8050.1202)

    Thanks again for your help.

  7. Good to hear WLM started working properly for you.
WLM's behavior in that regard has always been the same, so something
must have corrupted your previous version.
