I set up a new @live.com e-mail address and just tried to send a message to
a group I have had set up for quite some time, but when I clicked on Send, I
got the error message that there were too many recipients and that I should
remove some. First time I've seen this. It works fine from the old
@hotmail.com address. Is this something new for @live.com?

From Hotmail Help:(note the last line)
    - You're prompted to remove recipients before you can send a message
When you try to send an e-mail message to multiple recipients, you may
receive an error message that states that you must remove some recipients
before you can send your message.

To troubleshoot this issue, reduce the number of recipients to the allowed
number that appears in the error message, and then try to send your message
    again.

To help reduce the amount of spam that users send from Windows Live Hotmail
accounts, we limit the number of recipients that you can send a message to
at one time. To send a message to multiple recipients, make sure that you
include only the number of allowed recipients that appears in the error
message. ***** As you develop a reputation for not sending spam, we increase
the number of recipients that you can send messages to*****

LOL Just what I don't need, to be labeled as a "spammer". I wonder if
"linking" it to the old hotmail account would have any effect. I'll try it
and see and post if it does.

Thanks Winston. Using Windows Live Mail all the time I tend to forget to
check out the web for answers and therefore try to blame WLM for the
    problem.

    Larry,
My guess would be that use or link to a different hotmail account would
not matter(at least eventually) since one could easily interpret the
'reputation' based on sending messages as a means of increasing or
decreasing the 'number of recipients' counter (i.e. up or down).

With respect to online help, searching and finding items of interest
    isn't the most robust feature.

    In any event, good luck.

Can you bypass the recipient limit by using the smtp.live.com setting instead
of http mail? Or even use the smtp of your internet provider?
