    You've encountered error message 80070057 while using Windows Media Playe

    im just trying to play an song off my computer.. is there anything i could download to make this go away

    It says the parameter is incorrect...

    please help m

  2. What format are you trying to play? Does it only happen with one file?
    Without that information is hard to suggest anything. :\

  4. Error 80070057 or "The parameter is incorrect" means nothing without
    providing exact information about when you get the problem, what you are
    trying to do, along with information about your system.

    --What file type are you trying to play? (Ex. AVI, MPG, MP3, WMV)
    --Does this occur with all file types?
    --Does it occur with a single file type?
    --Does it occur with a single file?

    --What version of WMP and what OS do you have?
    --Is this file(s) stored on your hard drive/CD or on the web?
    --If on the web, what's the _exact_ link to the content?

    Hey chris i have the same problem and i was wondering if you could help me...
    I just finished downloading some music files off the internet and from the same user and using the same program. There are 17 files... none of them work... they are all mp3... when trying to play them as a .wav file they still do not work... i have windows media player for windows xp version 8.00.00.4477... this error does not occur with any other mp3 files or avi files that i try to play... these files are stored on my c: drive. please help! hehehhe
